We are excited to announce that we are officially in our new office space. Please keep this in mind when coming to your future appointments. We are located in the same building (Park Plaza 1300 N. Holopono str KiheiHI 96753), however, we are now in Suite 115 which is downstairs and on the opposite side of the courtyard. We are looking forward to providing care to you in our new location.
Booking physicals
We wanted to send out a friendly reminder to our patients that even though school is out for summer, the new school year is fast approaching. If your child is going to need school/sports forms completed, an appointment for a school physical should be booked as soon as possible. It is standard to give school forms at every well child appointment after the age of 5. For younger ages, please request one, if you need, prior to your appointment.
In order to sign off on school forms we need to have the complete medical record and vaccine history on file. Best practice includes performing a complete chart review prior to every well child visit in order to address any needs the child might have including vaccines that may be due at the time of their appointment. Due to our commitment of providing the best care to our patients we require adequate time to receive and review the records for the health and safety of our patients.
Prenatal - new parent class July 14 at 5 pm via Zoom!
Share with parents-to-be! This complimentary 1 hour class is ideal for first time parents. It covers what to expect in the first days as a new parent, normal growth, breastfeeding basics, supply issues, maternal medication management, COVID19 in pregnancy and breastfeeding and how your Pediatrician can support you through lactation difficulties. In addition, expecting parents will have the opportunity to have a Q&A session with the pediatrician. Cost is FREE but pre-registration on our website is required since spots are limited. Ear Piercing is back!
We are offering again ear piercing for our established patients. After seeing multiple skin infections in our young patients, we decided to offer this service! We use only Medical Ear piercing system 100 % nickel-free (Blomdahl Medical Ear piercing- Made in Sweden) for ages 3 -4 months and 5 years and older (if the child is cooperative and excited!).
Traditional ear piercing guns present a genuine health hazard. They can easily transmit blood-borne viruses. The danger is so real that most European countries have banned these instruments. Unfortunately, they are still legal and widely available in the USA. Our system uses single-use, disposable cassettes that eliminate the chance of transmission.
3-4% of the population is born with nickel sensitivity, and 20-25% of people with pierced ears develop some level of nickel allergy/sensitivity. Ear piercing and earrings can cause this condition.
